Resurrection

Zac Trent Garage

In April of 2002, Trent Weakly told me to buy a bass guitar so we could start a band. I had played the trombone for seven years, so although music was not foreign to me, stringed instruments were. In fact, I’d never really shown much of an interest in guitars at all. I don’t remember asking him, and I can’t remember how exactly he learned of Trent’s demands, but my dad had zero hesitation in answering the call. Two weeks later for my 17th birthday, he bought me a Squier Jazz Bass and a 30 watt Crate Amp… and my life was never the same.

It’s 12-ish years later. We disbanded officially in March 2006 (our last gig was the Sheridan Battle of the Bands). We’ve been not a band longer than we ever were a band. Yet somehow, I still have it in my bones. Rock music is still undeniably a part of me, and I have Sid Stoked to thank for it. We may never play anything ever again, and musician is far down on my list of preferred occupations, but for whatever reason, I’m still writing and recording music under that moniker.

I don’t know what this is. I don’t know what this will be. But it’s just important to me that it’s here.
